Product Owner
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Product Manager and cross-functional teams to translate the product vision and strategy into actionable plans for the development team. You will be responsible for defining, refining, and prioritizing features in the product backlog to support successful implementations. The ideal candidate excels at stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and clear communication throughout the product development lifecycle, driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This role plays a critical part in shaping products that directly enhance public safety and community well-being. You’ll have visibility into strategic priorities and opportunities to influence product direction, user experience, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience, particularly in photo enforcement, transportation, or public safety technology.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a software development environment.
• Proven experience delivering SaaS and cloud-based solutions; familiarity with IoT ecosystems is a strong plus.
• Strong background in Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum, including backlog ownership, sprint planning, and release cycles.
• Proficient with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent Agile project management platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical and user requirements for diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with remote and international teams across time zones.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify blockers and drive resolution in collaboration with engineering.
• Confident and empathetic leadership style that inspires and aligns cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Adaptable and resourceful; able to manage shifting priorities while staying focused on customer value delivery.

• Partner closely with the Product Manager to internalize and communicate the product vision, strategy, and goals. Act as the voice of the product for the development team, ensuring clarity on priorities and expected outcomes.
• Deeply understand and advocate for the needs and pain points of end users and stakeholders.
• Elicit, document, and validate user stories, features, and acceptance criteria aligned with business goals and user needs.
• Engage with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, set priorities, and align around a shared product vision throughout the development lifecycle.

Continuously groom, refine, and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business objectives, customer feedback, and evolving priorities.
• Lead Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) in partnership with the Engineering team to ensure efficient development cycles and improved product quality.
• Foster a culture of feedback and iteration by encouraging transparency, team accountability, and process improvements.
